Ara va de riure!

In February 1995, Gestmusic created and produced a special gala which, under the title ‘Ara va de riure!’, looked back over 12 years history of TV3 in search of the best items of comedy. The popular actor Miquel Cors, who at that time starred in the autonomous channel’s highly successful soap opera, Poble Nou – the channel’s first production of its own in this field– was the gala’s presenter. The show included the best moments from some of the channel’s programmes, among which featured sequences from shows such as ‘No passa res!’, ‘Filiprim’, ‘Força Barça’ or ‘La Lloll’.

It was a combination of excellent results, since the programme was audience leader with an average of above 750,000 viewers. This success led the directors of TV3 to entrust Gestmusic with the production of a weekly spot which, presented by the popular Josep Maria Bachs, was broadcast in prime time on Tuesdays. This space showed the best gags on the autonomous channel mixed in with others from some foreign channels.

Ara va de riure! became the funniest show of the week. Every Tuesday in prime time, Josep Maria Bachs presented the best gags from international television. The programme showed videos from channels in Great Britain, Australia, France and Belgium, helping us to understand the rest of the world’s sense of humour. All this material was interlaced with fragments of series produced in Catalonia by La Trinca, Tricucle, La Cubana or La Lloll.
