Gala Fin de Año TVE 1990

Televisión Española entrusted Gestmusic to make a special programme to see out the 80s from its production centre in Catalonia, in Sant Cugat. The welcoming in of the 90s merited a full scale celebration, so La Trinca took the big musicals of the 50s as a reference point and chartered a luxury transatlantic ship as the setting for a three-hour cruise-cum-show minutes after the pealing of the bells at midnight.

A grand festival was organised on board with many songs and gags from the cabins or the machine room of the ship itself. It was a real luxury cruise led by three very special passengers: the three members of La Trinca, dressed up for the occasion: as waiters or opera divas. The guests at the gala were also luxury class since, among others, appeared Plácido Domingo, Joan Manuel Serrat, La Unión, Ana Belén, María del Monte, Loquillo y los Trogloditas, Joe Cocker, Bon Jovi, Latoya Jackson and UB-40. Well-known faces from TVE also took part such as Julia Otero, Constantino Romero or the late Joaquín Prat.
