Gala Premios Ondas

Canal Plus and Gestmusic worked together for the first time to produce the prize-giving ceremony of the 199 Onda Prizes, the year coinciding with the 75th anniversary of its creator, Radio Barcelona. Tinet Rubira directed this gala that was held on the Olympic mountain of Barcelona, to be precise, one of its most symbolic buildings, the Palau Sant Jordi.

The journalist from Cadena SER, Iñaki Gabilondo, was the master of ceremonies of this luxurious prize-giving ceremony, aided by the journalists Gemma Nierga, Julia Otero and Xavier Sardà, the actress Emma Suárez and the flamenco dancer Joaquín Cortés.

Gemma Nierga collaborated in handing over ten special prizes commemorating the 75th anniversary of Radio Barcelona, awarded to professionals no longer working in the industry. Xavier Sardà presented the television Ondas; Julia Otero gave out the Onda international and Latin American radio awards, and the music Ondas were presented by Joaquín Cortés. Between the prizes, Rosa Maria Sardà entertained us with different gags that could be viewed on a giant screen.

As well as the prize giving and the fun, the evening hosted live music. Joan Manuel Serrat and Alejandro Sanz surprised us with a delightful duo of the song by the Catalan singer-songwriter Romance de Curro el Palmo and Gloria Stefan shared the stage with So Pra Contrariar.
