Open-air music is an inherent part of the summer festivals in the towns, and with the idea of livening up the evenings of July and August on TV3 in 1997, came the programme L’envelat. Every Thursday, the popular actor Àlex Casanovas presented this space that played host to the very best dance orchestras.

The set of L’envelat saw performances by groups such as La Principal de La Bisbal, the Orquestra Plateria, Constellation, Cimarrón, Costa Brava, Montgrins, Rosaleda, Maravella, Janio Martí and La Selvatana. All of them had something in common: they played all the hits in Catalan. Huapachá Combo also livened up the nights with their outrageous versions of popular songs.

As well as encouraging the audience to join in with the songs and dance on stage, Àlex Casanovas presented a musical quiz in which three couples took part.
