‘Vídeomix’ was a modern, different programme that enabled the viewer to be right up with the latest record releases. The space was broadcast daily, Saturdays included, with a varied timetable according to the channel’s needs. The early broadcasts were for the Catalan circuit of Televisión Española, but were later extended to the whole country.
The scheme was both simple and innovative, showing different video clips, but without the figure of a presenter. This work was backed up by excellent post-production that enabled each clip to link up with the next. It was therefore the graphic design that worked to introduce each song and give the programme a really dynamic look.
Broadcasts began at the beginning of 1990 and were over one year on air. In this time there was room for everything: reports on individual singers, video clips from a specific period, exclusively domestic blocks, etc. Within the first group there were special programmes dedicated to Madonna, Phil Collins, Tina Turner and David Bowie, among others. The 80s and heavy metal music were also given special broadcasts.
