From the success of Lluvia de estrellas arose the idea of creating a programme of impersonations for children aged up to 11. The format was identical, except for the fact that in this case the artist “suffered” a regression in time and was impersonated by a child performing before the audience in playback. This did not involve singing but of knowing how to impersonate the artist’s style and gestures and way of performing. This was aided by meticulous attention to detail in the styling.
Diana Lázaro and Raquel Meroño were entrusted to present the show in 1995, and just like the adult version, had a jury. The difference was that, in the heats, the jury was made up of children, but that did not mean they were more sparing in their judgement for the impersonators of Olivia Newton John, Isabel Pantoja, Juan Luis Guerra or Tina Turner. Later on came Menudas estrellas, in which the children sang live.
