Beta

On October 10, the new SX3 channel premiered, featuring Beta, our transmedia fiction project inspired by the Roblox universe for SX3. The project also includes a non-fiction video podcast called Betapodcast, starring the series’ characters; the music video for the song “Creu-me!”, released on September 29, which reached 100,000 views within the first 24 hours; and a video game in the Roblox metaverse (Beta: Magsys Universe). During Christmas, they released a second song, a Christmas carol titled “Aquest Nadal”, also created by Guille Milkyway. In May, a third song, “Full Festa”, was released and became a major success. But beyond the fictional storylines, centered around a mysterious artificial intelligence that seems to have orchestrated everything, the characters — four young people (Kai, Lola, Grau, and Jan) who play in a band called Beta — step beyond the screen to establish their own presence on digital platforms and star in a video podcast.

THE BETAPODCAST

In addition to uncovering the AI’s secret plans, Kai, Lola, Grau, and Jan — four curious, active, and socially engaged young people with a passion for technology — naturally end up creating their own video podcast: the Betapodcast. In this daily space, they share and create content about everything they love: music, dance, anime, literature, video games, technology… and much more! Everyone is welcome, but their followers play a central role.

THE VIDEO GAME: ‘BETA: MAGSYS UNIVERSE’

As part of Tech&Play, the first technology festival organized by Mobile World Capital Barcelona in 2023, the first video game created by CCMA and Gestmusic was launched. Children were able to participate in a “Game Party” hosted by the four members of BETA, marking the first immersive children’s fiction experience in Catalonia to move beyond the screen and into the virtual world of Roblox.

The game’s architecture was designed using artistic elements and concepts inspired by Catalan culture, traditions, and mythology.

BETA: MAGSYS UNIVERSE opens the doors of the temple to welcome players into a cooperative video game where children can play in teams of four to achieve victory. Players can also join individually or in groups of two or three to practice the games.
