Part of the success of ‘Força Barça’ in Catalonia was the section given over to the gossip press. A satire of all the latest gossip news told by the very people involved ended up having its own programme in some autonomous channels. This is how ‘No estamos locos’ came about, which was directed and presented by Alfonso Arús, creator of the successful format for the Catalan public.

The programme began broadcasting for Telemadrid, Canal Sur and Canal 9 and the second Basque autonomous channel, ETB 2, in November 1996. The masks of Amadeu Ferrer were once again keys to the programme’s success, since they gave life to the most talked about personalities of the time (and in fact, continue being so), such as Rocío Jurado, Ortega Cano, Julio Iglesias and his father, Papuchi, Jesulín de Ubrique and many others. Before a devoted public, they all told, in the first person, the ups and downs of the stars of the gossip columns for the different autonomous channels.
Apart from the gossip columns, the show had other highly successful sections, such as the original songs sung by the stars of the show which referred to the latest news, and the best home videos with commentaries, some hidden cameras that had people bursting out laughing, very funny gags, some of them Australian or English, two competitions –one about home videos and another about the public’s knowledge of the gossip column stars called “As de corazones”– and a section of “Taxi loco” completed the programme.
