Sing it, shake it but once the music breaks you won’t make it.

‘Uno de los nuestros’ (The Band Rules) is a new talent show in search of a lead singer for a professional big band. During each nerve wracking round, amateur singers are given a chance to audition with a 14-piece band. After the first 20 seconds of the performance, if any of the musicians don’t like what they see or hear they can stop playing at any time.

At the end of the song, if more than half the band have put their instruments down while someone is singing, the contestant is eliminated. The objective is to win over the band by keeping the musicians playing, but it’s not just the band as a whole that they’ll have to impress. In order to win the show, the budding performers must also impress a group of dancers and a panel of judges that they have the versatility, charisma and of course the voice to be the best all-round singer for the band.
